A number of political activists including a journalist were last week arrested and yesterday arraigned in different courts around the country after they were engaged in a various rowdy activities including riots and mobilization for the same in different districts.

The move to arrest the individuals has caused uproar in the People Power establishment with their leader Bobi Wine saying that the move is a deliberate attempt to scuffle their political campaign.

However this cannot be further from the truth as many of them have declared that they will use violence to de-stabilize the country and are hell bent on having the politics of the country be portrayed as volatile ahead of the general elections.

Arrest of anarchists is not a sign of panic or repression but rather a necessary step towards bringing law and order so as maintain sanity in the political process. These hooligans have expressed intent to disrupt order through illegal processions in urban centers and of recent, security has been investigating the link between gangs attacking government installations with the People Power group. Their leader, Bobi Wine has reiterated that he and his group shall use whichever means possible to resist authorities.

It is now clear that the only language these hooligans understand is violence and to suggest any other means to resolve the conflict would fall upon deaf, stubborn ears.
