In an endeavor to fight homosexuality, the Head of Criminal Division, Hon. Justice Michael Elubu, has sentenced one Twesigye Simon, 27, also known as Tadius, to 45 years in prison after being convicted of sodomizing four male juveniles aged 8, 9, and 13.
Twesigye was arrested in 2019 by Kira Road Police following allegations of sodomizing juveniles in Kamwokya Church Zone, where he lived with the victims and where he used to sell water, soda, and passion fruit juice.
According to High Court Judge Michael Elubu, the convicted man is a sexual predator whose activities will traumatize and have long-lasting effects on the victims. According to the prosecution, Twesigye had homosexual encounters with the four minors between 2016 and July 2019.
“This court has no doubt that testimonys from both witnesses were telling the truth. The convict placed his penis between the thighs of the victims’ for his sexual gratification, hence performing a sexual act,” Justice Elubu said.
In Twesigye’s defense, the allegations were the result of a grudge between one of the victim’s sisters, whom he denied a job, thus framing him. However, Justice Elubu reasoned that his claim was made up and false because witnesses had not brought it up.
Twesigye will be spending the next 45 years in prison, which is a lenient punishment considering the fact that prosecution led by Mr. Timothy Amerit asked for life imprisonment since the victims were juveniles.
