π According to the Presidential Press Unit, President Museveni will address the Parliament on issues of national Importance at Kololo Independence Grounds on Thursday at 2PM. The address will be live on all Radios, TV Stations and digital platforms. The Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among notified the members of Parliament on March 16, 2023, pursuant to Article 101 (2) of the Constitution.

π President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has visited the Martyrsβ Memorial monument to pay his respects to all the revolutionaries who sacrificed themselves in the struggle for Algeriaβs independence. He also visited the Central Museum of the Army where he received detailed information on the stages of the history of the Liberation War. President Museveni congratulated the heroic people of Algeria for waging the war that liberated Algeria and contributed to the freedom of other African countries.
πΊπ¬ 14 year old boy arrested for sodomizing his fellow 8 year old juvenile
πFred Enanga, the Police spokesperson has disclosed that a 14 year-old boy has been arrested for sodomizing a fellow eight-year-old juvenile. While addressing the Press on MondayΒ at the Headquarters in Naguru, Enanga said the offense took place at Plato Childrenβs School in Kampalaβs Bukoto zone, Nakawa Division. Enanga says that the boy who was sodomized was told not to tell anyone what happened and that he would get Lato Milk. He has urged schools to be cautious and hire more security guards to keep an eye on and protect children while they are at school and in any other isolated area of the school building.
πΊπ¬ Two men in Namisindwa District survive angry mob over sodomy
πTwo men in Namisindwa District have survived the wrath of angry residents after they were allegedly caught in sodomy. Rogers Wabuya and Derrick Wamangu, both residents of Bukiabi sub county, were rounded up by residents in a lodge in Bumbo Town Council over the weekend. Joseph Kamuli, the Bumbo Town Council LCIII chairperson who rescued the duo said they took Wamangu to Magale Health Centre III for treatment after sustaining raptures in his anal area while Wabuya is held at Bumbo Police Post.
πΊπ¬ President Museveni directs CID to investigate Karamoja iron sheets scandalΒ
πThe Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) are conducting investigations into the alleged theft and diversion of relief meant for Karamoja region. Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga on Monday said that President Museveni had ordered for an inquiry into the theft of iron sheets and other relief items meant for Karamoja region. The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) requested Uganda Police and CID to carry out investigations into the Karamoja scandal which are ongoing.
πΊπ¬ Hon Kadaga optimistic over Kenya’s notice on Ugandan milk import ban
π Minister for East African Community (EAC) Affairs Rebecca Kadaga has said that efforts are being made to ensure that the countryβs milk exports are not interrupted following the recent notice from Kenya that it plans to cut imports from Uganda. During an engagement with the Media at the EAC affairs Ministry in Kampala, Hon. Kadaga said she contacted Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for the East African Community, Rebecca Miano, who was informed of the damage the ban would do to Uganda’s dairy industry and the EAC spirit.
βI contacted Miano, who herself had not seen the letter. So, I sent her a copy and she said she is going to handle it,β she said.
πΊπ¬ NFA rallies Masaka residents to preserve forestsΒ
πThe National Forestry Authority Executive Director, Tom Rukundo has rallied Masaka District residents to join in the work of protecting and conserving Jubia Central Forest Reserve in Buzirango county. The call came as MP Bukoto East Evans Kanyike together with residents accused the NFA of discriminating against them in leasing forest reserves for others, who instead engage in deforestation. The residents were meeting NFA officials at Buzirango village in Bukkakata sub-county, where they called for increased protection of the Jubia forest reserve.
πΊπ¬ 42 errant Kenyan fishermen to be charged in UgandaΒ
πThe 42 Kenyan fishermen detained in Uganda are expected to appear in Court on Tuesday. They were arrested four weeks ago in Lolwe Island in Ugandan waters as they were fishing and taken to Kampala after their 12 boats were seized by Ugandan authorities. Julius Odembo, the chairman of Bondo Fishermen Association who traveled to Kampala on Friday accompanied by relatives of the fishermen said the Ugandan authorities had informed them that the fishermen were due to appear in court after being held in custody for four weeks.

πChinese technology company, Huawei is set to offer digital training over 10,000 Ugandans in the next three years.Β The Huawei DigiTruck project in Uganda was launched last week by President Museveni. The project will provide free digital skills training.
βThis project will benefit over 10,000 Ugandans in a span of 3 years especially jua-kali, enterprise owners, women, young girls and students through digital skilling. Digital transformation is one of the key drivers of effective human capital development, it therefore gives me pleasure to launch this Huawei project,β Museveni said.
πΊπ¬ RUBANDA: Lightning kills father and his two juvenile sonsΒ
πLightning struck three family members dead in Rubanda District. The dead are Ambrose Kanunu, 35, a resident of Rwamuyora village, Nyarurambu parish, Muko sub county, his sons Justus Asiimwe, 7, and Arnold Habomugisha, 5, both former pupils of Bwindi Primary School. Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesperson explained that Kanunu and his two sons died on the spot. The wife, Allen Uwimana, 32 was in the kitchen and survived.

πA Probation Police Constable and a bodaboda rider have died following a crash involving a trailer and a motorcycle. According to a Police, the rider Douglas Oculi, a resident of Amuloakere village, Adok sub-county in Dokolo District, died onΒ spot, while his passenger, Moreen Kakuru, 26, a Police Officer attached to Lira City East Division died while being treated at Lira Regional Referral Hospital. A trailer crushed both of them when their motorcycle veered to the middle of the road.

π Wenger arrives in Rwanda for FIFA Congress
πFormer Arsenal manager ArsΓ¨ne Wenger arrived in Kigali on Sunday night, to attend the much-anticipated 73rd FIFA Congress slated for March 16. Wenger, who currently serves as the world football body (FIFA) Chief of Global Football Development, is one of many delegates expected at the high-level meeting which will be chaired by FIFA President Gianni Infantino. He arrived at Kigali International Airport alongside FIFA General Secretary Fatma Samoura. The most awaited item on the agenda of the FIFA Congress in Kigali is the elections of the FIFA President who will be taking office during the next four years. Incumbent Infantino will stand for a third-term unchallenged during the elections.
π KENYA: Azimio supporters protest in Migori
π Transport was paralyzed and businesses closed on Monday morning after Azimio supporters staged protests in the streets of Migori. The protesters who were carrying placards barricaded roads with stones and demanded for the opening of IEBC servers. They also complained about the high cost of living, and asked the Kenyan Government to first deal with the price of essential goods. The protest is in response to an order from Azimio leader Raila Odinga, who last week gave an ultimatum to the Government to reduce the cost of living, failure to which there will be mass action.
π KENYA: Two foreign tourists die in Maasai Mara crash
πTwo foreign tourists, a German and a Swiss, died in an accident in Kenyaβs Maasai Mara game park. The accident happened after a vehicle they were using for their tour veered off the road. Kenyan Police said the accident was being investigated. Maasai Mara National Reserve is a popular tourist destination for locals and foreigners.
π NAMIBIA: President Geingob names female successorΒ
πNamibiaβs President Hage Geingob named Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah as the candidate for the ruling Swapo party in next yearβs elections. In remarks to the partyβs top organ, the President called on party members to support Ms Nandi-Ndaitwah when official campaigns begin next year. Ms Nandi- Ndaitwah is the partyβs Vice-President and the countryβs current deputy prime minister. He also called on Swapo members not to create factions from the outcome of the party nominations.
π At least 11 die as storm Freddy hits MalawiΒ
πPolice in Malawi have said at least 11 people have died and 16 others are missing as a result of the destruction caused by tropical storm Freddy. Homes have been destroyed, and Police in the city of Blantyre fear people are trapped under rubble. Freddy is one of the strongest storms ever recorded in the southern hemisphere and has caused weeks of persistent rainfall in Mozambique and Malawi.
π Vice-President Kamala Harris to visit Tanzania, Ghana and Zambia
πVice President Kamala Harris is set to visit threeΒ African countries at the end of March as the United States deepens its outreach to the continent. She plans to be in Ghana from March 26 to 29, then Tanzania and finally Zambia. The Vice Presidentβs agenda will include promoting democracy, climate adaptation, womenβs economic empowerment and food security.
βThe trip will strengthen the United Statesβ partnerships throughout Africa and advance our shared efforts on security and economic prosperity,β said a statement from the Vice Presidentβs spokesperson, Kirsten Allen.
π Dozens of migrants feared dead off Libyaβs Coast
πAround 30 people are missing and feared dead, after a boat carrying migrants capsized off the coast of Libya. A humanitarian group, Alarm Phone, said they would have survived if Europe had not decided to let them down. The charity said it alerted the authorities in Libya, Italy and Malta after it had been contacted by migrants on the boat on Saturday. The Italian coastguard said the vessel was in Libyansβ search and rescue zone and was difficult to reach because of bad weather.
