Former Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has become the first foreigner to coach the Brazilian National team in sixty years.

The last foreign coach to manage the samba boys was Argentine Filpo Nunez, who was in charge for one game in 1965.

The former Italian player has attained numerous successes as a manager in Europe, and among his many successes. 64-year-old Ancelotti has won the Champions League four times, twice with both AC Milan and Real Madrid, making him the most successful coach in Eufa Champions League history.

He has also won domestic league titles in England with Chelsea, Germany with Bayern Munich, and France with Paris Saint-Germain, as well as with Real Madrid and Milan.

With the 64-year-old joining as head coach of the national team for the 2024 Copa America, Brazil were coached by Tite at last year’s World Cup, but he stood down from the role after their elimination at the quarterfinal stage to Croatia.

The five-time world champions are to play in the Copa America tournament, which includes 12 teams and will be held in the United States starting in June 2024.

Vinicius Jr., the Real Madrid star, remarked following Brazil’s announcement of Carlo Ancelotti by saying he is delighted to play again under Ancelotti.

“As a player who has played under Ancelotti at Real Madrid, I am very excited and very sure that he brings a lot of experience to our national team,” Vinicius said on his Twitter account.
