Njeru Police in Buikwe district have on Monday, August 21, 2023, arrested a woman identified as Patricia Nantume for alleged human trafficking, homosexuality, and violating the  rights of her female staff. Natume is also accused of allegedly using sex toys on her female employees and later posting recordings on TikTok and other social media platforms.

According to Hellen Butoto, the Ssezibwa region police spokesman, the arrest occurred after a raid on a massage parlour that is suspected of providing homosexual and lesbian sex services.

“Nantume was detained alongside four other people who have been identified as Malaika, 26, who is the owner of the business, Hope Nawasasira, 20, Douglas Kibirige, 25, and Denis Kirumira, 27,” Butoto said.

She added that all the suspects are employees of Cloud 9 Massage Parlour and Chill Out in Bukaya West Zone, Njeru municipality in Buikwe district.

Butoto stated that the four were arrested in response to a concern raised by a massage parlour employee to the defence secretary about alleged unlawful activities at the establishment.

“A female informant tipped the area defence secretary that suspected acts of homosexuality were being carried out, especially with Indian clients as their most-preferred clients,” Butoto added.

According to Butoto, the informant got into a misunderstanding with her boss, who later ordered men to undress her, after which she was reportedly thrown outside the gate naked.

The informant claimed that she was trafficked from Mbarara to Buikwe district three months ago with promises of work in a massage, sauna, and salon and was to be paid Shs500,000 monthly, only to be lured into lesbianism and prostitution.

Police condemns all acts of human trafficking, human rights violations, and homosexuality and urges the public to report such incidents to the numerous stations located throughout the country.
