The NRM Deputy National Treasurer Jacqueline Kyatuhaire, along with members of the Central Executive Committee and local legislators, has called on party leaders to rally behind Rose Kabagyeni and actively engage their communities in support of her candidacy ahead of Thursday’s election and ensure votes are safeguarded on Election Day.

This call was made during a meeting held at town hall involving the five counties of Kisoro on November 10, 2024, aimed at consolidating support for their candidate and in order to keep the NRM flag high in Kisoro.

This initiative followed a series of large open rallies aimed at consolidating voter backing.

“We urge you to vote for Kabagyeni and ensure that the votes are safeguarded at all polling stations,” Kyatuhaire said.

She noted that during the Bufumbira South meeting, knowledge of the local terrain is invaluable, and it will depend on them to maintain the NRM’s stronghold in Kisoro.

Kabagyeni continued her campaign, visiting Kyanika town council, Chahi, and Nyakinama sub-countries, discussing service delivery and empowerment projects aimed at improving local livelihoods, reinforcing the NRM’s commitment to the people. While the party officials focused on community engagement.

“We cannot afford to divide our votes in this election; I encourage you to support the NRM, which prioritizes the welfare of its citizens,” Kabagyeni said.

She also invited residents to attend a rally on Tuesday, November 12, where President Yoweri Museveni, the NRM Chairman, will campaign for her at Ssaza grounds.

The Kisoro district woman Member of Parliament seat fell vacant after the death of Kisoro woman MP and state Minister of Defence Sarah Nyirabashitsi Mateke on September 7, 2024, due to a heart attack at Mengo Hospital. The elections are set for November 14, 2024.
