The Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) is set to hold its 9th private sector gala, where they will award individual and private companies that are positively impacting the livelihood of persons in Uganda.

This was announced on Tuesday, November 5th, 2024 by the PSFU Executive Director, Stephen Asiimwe, while addressing a press conference at their offices in Kampala.

Asiimwe said that they have different categories of awards, and they are meant to appreciate different people in the private sector.

“The Gala is strictly for members, and we shall award people from different categories, including business association of the year, women’s organization of the year, youth organization of the year, media personality of the year, and ESG and SCR champion of the year,” Asiimwe said.

The PSFU Chief Membership Officer, Mr. Francis Kisirinya, said that the award seeks to promote good practices and motivate other business owners and private sector actors to do better.

“About the awards, one must have demonstrated good practices like having registered their business company, being tax compliant, and other requirements. The awards help us promote good practices. We also need to motivate the winners to do more and encourage others to emulate the winners,” Kisirinya added.

The awards will be held on 6th December 2024, and all those to participate in the awards should apply on the PSFU portal and wait for the vetting and selection process.

In last year’s awards, URSB was crowned best government agency for the year 2023, and Uganda Breweries Limited received the Award in Private Sector Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) Champion of the Year 2023.
