Former Rubaga North parliamentary candidate and a renowned City opposition mobilizer, Moses Kasibante, has tasked Buganda MPs to satisfactorily explain how the scrapping of UCDA will affect coffee growing within the region.
He blamed the leaders, including MP Joel Ssenyonyi, who is also the Leader of Opposition in Parliament, LOP saying they are confusing the rationalization of government agencies.
Kasibante also accused LOP Ssenyonyi of not holding any meetings with the MPs from other regions to convince them about the move to block the government’s decision to rationalize UCDA.
He claimed that the recent commotion staged in Parliament by the MPs from Buganda was only meant to confuse voters and portray them as those effectively delivering their roles.
Kasibante Moses said that UCDA was invisible and unknown among the poor people, and many were playing in the gallery without knowing UCDA.
The government started to merge its agencies in response to the opposition’s call to reduce government expenditure but some of the opposition members, mainly from the Buganda caucus, have come against the decision.
“The immigration office under Internal Affairs and the driving permit office under the Ministry of Transport and Works are performing well; even if UCDA is taken to the Ministry of Agriculture, it can as well perform better,” Kasibante said.
Kasibante Moses and Mathias Mpuuga have diluted the opposition’s decision of LOP Ssenyonyi and Muwanga Kivumbi, the chairman of the Buganda Caucus, as panic continued in the opposition.
