Kitara Football Club has appointed Wasswa Bbosa as the new coach to revitalize the team and steer them towards success after cumulating just four points in six games in the 2024/25 Uganda Premier League campaign.

The club made the official announcement in a statement released on Monday, October 28, 2024.

According to the statement, Bbosa offers a wealth of success and experience, having previously won the CECAFA Kagame Cup with Express FC and the Uganda Premier League title.

“We are delighted to announce Wasswa Bbosa as the new head coach,” read part of the statement.

Kitara FC is hoping Bbosa’s appointment will turn their fortunes around after a disappointing start to the 2024/25 season.

“He is expected to bolster the team’s performance and results after a poor start to the 2024/25 Uganda Premier League campaign. His assignment begins with Friday’s fixture against URA FC away at the Hamz Stadium—Nakivubo,” the statement added.

BBOSA’s first test as head coach of Kitara FC will be a match against URA FC on Friday at the Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo.

The new coaching team, which includes George Lutalo, assistant coach, Hassan Mubiru, assistant coach, Richard Kansole, goalkeeping coach, Ayub Balyejusa, fitness trainer, Aloysius Makubuya, team doctor, and Alex Mugisha, team statistician, will work alongside Bbosa to achieve the club’s goal.

BBOSA replaces Brian Senyondo, who was relieved of his duties over the weekend. Kitara finished 4th in the 2023/2023 season.
