Uganda Rhinos Secure Second Win in CECAFA U-15 Championship

Uganda football team U-15 (Uganda Rhinos) picked up the second win in the ongoing Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) U-15 Boys championship by defeating South Sudan 3-0 on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

Before the match started, a moment of silence was observed in memory of 2nd FUFA Vice President Darius Mugoye, who passed away in the morning.

The match started with neither team taking charge of the game, which ended 0-0 in the first half.

The second half started with a lot of energy from Team Uganda as they searched for the breaker.

Frank Ssekanjako finally broke the deadlock in the 56th minute, followed by a goal from Enock Bagenda after just 3 minutes.

In the 86th minute, Abdulshakur Babi added another goal to secure the second victory in the championship.

Earlier on, Ethiopia played Djibouti, and they won 8-1.

Uganda Rhinos played Djibouti in the first match, winning 15-0, while Ethiopia played South Sudan, and they drew 1-1.

Uganda will take on Ethiopia on Friday, November 10, 2023, while South Sudan will take on Djibouti.
