President Museveni Extends Sympathy to Morocco in Wake of Devastating Earthquake Tragedy

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, in a heartfelt statement, has sent condolences to His Majesty King Mohammed VI and all Moroccans for the lives lost in the earthquake.

In a message sent Monday, September 11, 2023, to His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

President Museveni noted that he has learned with sadness about the tragic and devastating earthquake that hit our brotherly Kingdom of Morocco on the night of September 8, 2023, killing over 2000 people and leaving more injured.

“On behalf of the people of Uganda and of myself, I convey our deepest condolences to His Majesty King Mohammed VI and all the Moroccan people for all the lives lost in the earthquake.” President’s message read in part.

Morocco was hit by a deadly earthquake on Friday, September 8, 2023, leaving over 2000 people dead and survivors injured.
