Students Assocciation UNSA create Partnership with European Union to Amplify Youth Voices in Uganda.

On 30th August 2023, In an effort towards empowering the youth and promoting their active participation in shaping the nation’s future, the Uganda National Students’ Association (UNSA) marked a remarkable presence at the Launching Ceremony of the European Union Youth Sounding Board for Uganda. The event, graced by H.E Mutesi Hadijah, witnessed the official inauguration of the board’s members.

H.E Mutesi Hadijah, representing UNSA, spoke at the ceremony, emphasising the organization’s commitment to Ugandan student-EU collaboration. The primary goal behind this partnership is to provide a platform for young voices in Uganda to contribute their perspectives on critical topics, such as Climate, Environment & Energy, Gender, Human Rights, Skilling, and Jobs.

“Today’s youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow; they are the voices we need to listen to today. Their perspectives, ideas, and concerns are invaluable, and this partnership with the European Union solidifies our commitment to making sure they are heard.” said Mutesi.

The collaborative effort seeks to include the country’s youth’s active voices and innovative concepts in life-changing decisions. UNSA hopes to harness Ugandan students’ energy and creativity to shape policies and tactics that match their goals by cooperating with the EU Embassy.

The thematic areas identified for youth involvement hold immense significance for the future of Uganda. Climate change and environmental sustainability, gender equality, human rights, and skill development are cornerstones of the country’s progress. By giving the youth a seat at the table, this partnership acknowledges their role as key stakeholders in driving positive change.

UNSA’s presence at the launch ceremony highlights their determination to pave the way for meaningful collaborations that transcend borders and empower youth. Through this partnership, UNSA envisions a future where young Ugandans actively contribute to charting the course of their nation and the world at large.
