Gov’t declares Wednesday June 28 a public holiday for Eid-al-Adhuha celebrations

The government of Uganda, through the ministry of public service, declared June 28, 2023, as the day for Muslims to celebrate Eid-Al Adhuha.

The Ministry’s permanent secretary, Godfrey Kaima, said in a statement that the day will be observed for Muslims to celebrate Eid-Al Adhuha and the public holiday throughout the country.

‘’Inform the general public that Wednesday, June 28, 2023, is Eid-AI-Adhuha and will be observed as a public holiday throughout Uganda,’’ Kaima stated.

Kaima stated that the same day, Wednesday, is also used to mark the culmination of the annual pilgrimage to Mecca and informs the public to observe it as a public holiday throughout the country.
