Uganda Pentecostal University Vice Chancellor Prof. Ntambirweki Passes On

Wednesday, April 12, 2023, will always remain a dark day for all those who have ever crossed paths with the late Professor John Ntambirweki, vice chancellor and founder of Uganda Pentecostal University.

The soft-spoken professor took his last breath on Wednesday afternoon at the age of 68, and the cause of death is yet to be revealed.

Ntambirweki held a Bachelor degree in Law from Makerere University, a diploma in law from the Law Development Centre, Kampala, and Master of Laws degree (LLM) from the University of Nairobi.

John Ntambirweki is a former senior lecturer at Makerere University. He is also a former Head of Department of Law at Uganda Christian University.

Due to his wealthy academic experience and background, Prof. Ntambirweki has served in various capacities as a lecturer and legal advisor, and by the time of his death, he was a consultant with several international organizations such as World Bank, UNICEF, UNDP, and FAO, among others.

He has also been a consultant at the law firm of Ntambirweki Kandeebe and Company Advocates.

The minister for Justice and constitutional affairs, Mr. Norbert Mao, described the late scholar as a trailblazing scholar.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at All Saints Cathedral, Nakasero, at 2:00 pm, followed by a vigil at Ntambirweki’s residence in Katuso-Buziga.

Burial will take place at their home in Bisheshe, Ibanda district, western Uganda, on Saturday, April 15th, 2023, starting with a service at noon.
