📌The Uganda Revenue Authority has ushered in 24 new members to the Authorized Economic Operators (AEO). 📌Uganda Electricity Generation Company limited has intensified its operation to catch thugs vandalising energy infrastructure across the country. In their latest operation, one person was arrested with assorted items in Iganga. This comes on the back of reports that about Shs260 billion was lost in vandalism over the last 15 months. Security also impounded a lorry which was carrying Electric Equipment suspected to have been vandalized and arrested six people.

📌Kabale University has fired Dr. Lukman Nafiu Abiodum, a senior lecturer of Statistics who was accused of sexually harassing his female students. The Kabale University Secretary Johnson Baryantuma Munono earlier this week, wrote to Dr. Abiodum informing him that the university appointments board had found him guilty of sexual harassment, failure to follow examination regulations and professional negligence.

📌The Uganda Wildlife Education and Conservation centre in Entebbe has launched a campaign to reduce on the number of stray dogs in areas of Entebbe. This follows reports from residents of attacks by stray dogs in the area. Through this campaign, 300 dogs have been castrated and others vaccinated as part of the conservation centre’s 70th anniversary.

📌President Filipe Nyusi on Sunday announced that Mozambique has officially started exporting Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) produced in the country’s north. 📌UN member states have urged India to take a tougher stand on sexual violence and religious discrimination as they raised New Delhi’s human rights record during a Universal Periodic Review (UPR) at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). The UPR held every four years is a mechanism to examine the human rights records of member states. Any member state can ask questions and make recommendations to the state under review.

📌The Turkish Interior Minister, Suleyman Soylu on Monday revealed that the Turkish police had arrested a suspect who left the bomb that caused the bomb explosion on Sunday, which hit a busy pedestrian street in central Istanbul, Beyoglu district. This bomb blast killed at least 8 people and wounded 81 others.

📌The Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Sunday accused Russian soldiers of committing war crimes and killing civilians in Kherson, which was retaken by Ukraine last week.
“Investigators have already documented more than 400 Russian war crimes. Bodies of dead civilians and servicemen have been found,” Zelenskyy said in his nightly video address.
