Otuke East Member of Parliament, Julius Achon Bua, has been gifted with a brand new Toyota Land Cruiser by the World Olympians Association.
MP Achon is one of the five exceptional Olympians who were inducted early this year as Olympians for Life, a prestigious award by the World Olympians Association (WOA). Achon competed for Uganda in the 1500-meter track event in Atlanta in 1996 and Sydney in 2000.
The “Olympians For Life” honour is bestowed upon Olympians who have made an outstanding contribution to society, both on and off the field of play, throughout their lives.
These are Olympians who embody Olympic values and strive to make the world a better place.
He devoted his life to promoting peace, the health of people across the board, and improving the lives of disadvantaged young people by increasing development through sport.
Hailing from Otuke district, MP Achon is the second athlete from Uganda after the late John Akii Bua to become famous on the International Athletic Championships’ chart.
