The State Minister for Investment and Privatisation, Evelyn Anite, has described Uganda as East Africa’s premier investment hub with a bright future awaiting United Arab Emirates (UAE) investors.

Anite said that given its thriving potential and strategic positioning, this is the opportune moment for the UAE to embark on an investment journey into Uganda’s bright future.

She made these remarks while presiding over the 2nd edition of the annual Uganda-UAE business forum at the Commonwealth Resort Speke Munyonyo in Kampala on October 11, 2023.

Anite urged investors to invest in Uganda, where they can be sure of a return on investment.

“Uganda shines as the best investment destination in East Africa, honoured at the prestigious Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) in Abu Dhabi, UAE. With its flourishing potential and strategic location, now is the time for the UAE to invest in Uganda’s promising future,” Anite added.

She characterised Emiratis as reliable partners eager to add value to commodities such as gold, coffee, and tea and praised the President for boosting the economy.

Henry Mayega, Uganda’s Ambassador to the UAE, commended the Uganda-UAE Business Forum as a cornerstone of a commercial and economic diplomacy initiative that drives foreign investments, boosts tourism, and fosters technical transfer.

The Uganda-UAE Business Forum is underway with the objective of facilitating dialogue between the governments of Uganda and the UAE and the business community.

The forum is an annual event aimed at attracting foreign direct investment, promoting trade and tourism, attracting technology transfers, and presenting business opportunities between Uganda and the UAE.
