The Uganda Cranes contingent has safely arrived at Houari Boumedience airport in Algiers for the seventh African Nations Championship (CHAN) edition of the unique competition meant exclusively for home based players.
According to FUFA, the team was officially welcomed by H.E the Ambassador of Uganda to Algeria and the Maghreb region John Crysostom Alintuma Nsambu.
FUFA has also revealed that from Algiers, the contingent will connect to Annaba where the team will play its group games starting with Democratic Republic of Congo on Saturday 14th January 2023.
The sports experts hope Uganda Cranes will still triumph over its neighbor basing on 2-0 victory over DRC in 2019.
This has been attributed to the serious training that the Uganda Cranes players have been undergoing before it landed to Algeria for CHAN finals.
“We have to do better than previous editions for the team to stay in the tournament as long as the team can,” Uganda Cranes boss Micho said.
He also added that he will not talk much stating that the players will talk on the field of play as they rub legs.
