Uganda Airlines has officially started its international flights to Abuja, Nigeria, as of Thursday, September 12, 2024.
This expansion is part of the airline’s strategy to enhance connectivity across Africa, with additional routes to Lusaka and Harare also launching this month.
Adedayo Olawuyi, Chief Commercial Officer of Uganda Airlines expressed pride in this new route, emphasizing the airline’s commitment to fostering connections within the region.
He stated that the inaugural flight to Abuja is scheduled to operate every Sunday and Thursday using the A330-800 aircraft.
“We look forward to working with the national airline to deliver the inaugural East African Air show in Uganda,” Olawuyi said.
He also highlighted the collaborative efforts that will accompany this new service.
By adding Abuja to its destinations, the airline is not only enhancing travel options for passengers but also contributing to the economic and cultural exchange between East Africa and West Africa,” Olawuyi said
He added on to say that this development marks a significant milestone for Uganda Airlines, as it aims to strengthen ties and promote travel between Uganda and Nigeria.
With this launch, Uganda Airlines is poised to play a pivotal role in regional air travel, facilitating greater accessibility and connectivity for travelers across the continent.
