Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, Deputy Speaker of Parliament, has praised First Daughter Natasha Museveni Karugire for her new documentary “Those from Among You,” which emphasises Uganda’s difficult past, politics, people, and major events that impacted the current peace and stability.
Tayebwa thanked Natasha for her deliberate efforts in ensuring that the documentary reaches young people in order to help them understand the context and true meaning of war, peace, and stability at the official launch of the NRA documentary premiered at Century Cinemax.
“In our generation, peace is defined by whether we have access to social media, whether you can go to a club at 3 a.m., whether you can drink yourself silly and still find your way home, and we also define peace by whether you can abuse responsible people and get away with it,” Tayebwa added.
Tayebwa added that a new documentary directed by the First Daughter will provide in-depth insights about President Museveni’s ruling National Resistance Movement’s five-year guerrilla battle.
Former Chief Justice Benjamin Odoki praised the documentary as a fitting tribute to Uganda’s gallant sons and daughters, who have worked tirelessly to leave Uganda in a better state than they found it.
“Those who forget history are doomed, and those who learn from history are also doomed to repeat it,” Odoki explained.
Natasha Museveni Karugire revealed why she developed the NRA documentary, stating that it aims to assist people in following their life journey.
