The 2024 Euro concluded on Sunday, July 14, 2024, with a highly dramatic final match held at the Olympiastadion Berlin, Germany, which saw Spain overcome England by two goals to one.

Spain showed total dominance through the whole tournament, with their two impressive young talents, Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams, at the helm of every successful step.

These two played key roles in ensuring Spain would go back to the top of European football, and as usual, they were a constant threat in front of the goal.

The match was even going into the break, and the loss of midfield maestro Rodri seemed like a huge blow for Spain, only for the two young sensational talents to get the lead against England in the 47th minute when Yamal assisted Nico’s goal.

The lead lasted until the 73rd minute, when substitute Cole Palmer leveled the score for England three minutes after coming on.

However, happiness was short-lived for the English fans when, in the 86th minute, Mikel Oyazarbal pounced on Cucurella’s cross to slot the ball beyond Jordan Pickford, sealing the victory for Spain.

The final against an underperforming England team, though overflowing with talents, sealed Spain’s dominance, scoring 15 goals and conceding just 4 in this tournament.

Spain also remained unbeaten by winning seven of the seven games it faced, even against European giants such as Germany and France.

The tournament ended with six players as top scorers, each with three goals; thus, the Golden Boot was shared.

They included England’s captain Harry Kane, Dani Olmo from Spain, Georges Mikautadze from Georgia, Cody Gakpo from the Netherlands, Ivan Schranz from Slovakia, and Jamal Musiala from Germany. They ended with five other players.

The teenager, Yamal, who celebrated his 17th birthday the day before the final, was named the young player of the tournament, while 22-year-old Williams was named man of the match in the final.
