The secret move to replace the current leader of Opposition in the 11th Parliament, MP Mathias Mpuga has been finalised by the top leadership of the National Unity Platform party.
A highly placed source at the Kamwokya based NUP top bosses revealed that the decision to fire MP Mpuga and replace him with Kasanda District woman MP Flavia Nabagabe Kalule.
The source said the decision was directly sanctioned by Bobi Wine himself who seems more terrified with the manners which LOP Mathias has been conducting businesses within the house.
Another source within intelligence revealed that the decision by Kyagulanyi to relieve MP Mpuga frkm his roles as the LOP was majorly informed by the apparent inadequate trust by other opposition leaders especially regarding his transactions with the government.
We have also established that Bobi Wine has already held secret consultations both within and in Diasporas regarding the move and has also conducted several meetings with MP Flavia over the same.
MP Kalule who is also the current chairperson of NUP women’s league according to her close pals has given a node to this proposal.
“Kalule is a loyal member to the party president, besides we need to empower women in their contributions towards the development of Uganda, there’s no need for one to stick to the role he has misrepresented,” a top NUP leader said.
MP Mpuuga has often been seen representing the Speaker of Parliament and Prime Minister on various occasions, a move which many fellow opposition leaders have always disagreed with.
Another source said, MP Mpuga recently created a separate NUP WhatsApp group to aid secret discussions on possible way forward to remove Kyagulanyi and replace him with Kibalama whim they preferred as easy to deal with unlike Bobi Wine.
During one of the lengthy discussion held via this same WhatsApp group, many senior NUP legislators accused Kyagulanyi of single handedly running party to acquire wealth and turning the institution into family affairs.
A source within Intelligence recently revealed how more than 40 NUP MPs are behind Kibalama and prominently supporting him to kick Kyagulanyi whom they described as greedy out of the mighty opposition party.
