Prisons Chief Commends She Maroons FC, Pledges Future Support

Dr. Can. Johnson Byabashaija, the Commissioner General of Prisons, has pledged his support for the She Maroons Football Club’s future league competitiveness as they return from the FUFA Women’s Super League (FUFAWSL).

He made these remarks while hosting a special meeting with the She Maroons FC at Uganda Prisons Headquarters to congratulate them on their triumphant return to the FUFA Women’s Super League and impressive sixth-place finish in their first season at the top level.

During his speech, Dr. Byabashaija, who is also the patron of Maroons Football Club, commended the team for carrying the Uganda Prisons Service flag high and making the service proud.

He urged the players to maintain discipline and involvement with Uganda Prisons even after they retired from active football, noting that there is always a place for athletes in the service as long as they maintain a good record.

Dr. Byabashaija also thanked the technical team led by Coach Simon Peter Ochuka for their commitment and resilience amidst all challenges.

The She Maroons FC has been making waves in the FUFAWSL, and their successful season has been hailed as a reflection of the team’s dedication and consistency.

The meeting was attended by the players, technical staff, and top leadership of Uganda Prisons Service.
