Police Make Breakthrough in Murder Case: Recover Police Gun and Ammunition, Arrest Suspects

Police have recovered a police gun and an SMG rifle with 60 rounds of ammunition belonging to PC Ocen Moris, who was killed on January 12, 2023.

According to Michael Longole, the Mt. Moroto Regional Police Spokesperson the recovery was made during a search operation conducted by joint security forces on January 14, 2024, in Morudukae West village, Kalapata parish, Kalapata sub county, Kaabong District.

Longole said that during the operation, two Karamajong warriors suspected to have taken part in the murder of the police officer, who were identified as Lomuria Lochomin and Lokol Loita were arrested.

“The Karamajong warriors who were arrested led our teams to where they had hidden the Police gun SMG rifle which we found along 60 rounds of ammunitions and had it recovered,” Longole said.

On August 29, 2023, Security operatives in the Karamoja sub region also recovered three firearms during cordon and search operations from armed criminals in Amudat and Moroto districts.
