Police Issues Statement Regarding Two Separate Blasts around Kampala

Police in Kampala has reported to responding to two separate incidents in the district that were of concern to the populace.

ASP Luke Owoyesigyire Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, in a statement released December 3,2023, has said that Police responded to two separate blasts yesterday night December 2,2023.

According to Owoyesigyire, at about 9pm December 2,2023, in Mayor, Kabalagala parish Makindye Division a business premise belonging to Joy Nakasanga aged 23 years , specializing in frying chips experienced an incident that led to a blast.
” Fortunately no fatalities were reported,the owner Nakasanga experienced minor injuries but currently is in a stable condition,” Owoyesigyire said.

Owoyesigyire noted that a team of experts is investigating the cause of the blast and updates of the findings will be provided as communicated.
ASP Owoyesigyire noted, that another blast was reported at around 9pm on December 2, 2023, in Nabweru.

Additionally, a team of bomb squad and forensic services responded to the blast and no injuries or fatalities were reported.
” The blast occurred in one of the unoccupied rentals, our team is working diligently to determine the cause of the blast, and further information regarding the blast will be communicated once investigations are complete,” ASP Owoyesigyire added.

He noted that, these incidents are under investigations, however he called upon the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities in their communities.urguing the public that, their cooperation is crucial in maintaining the safety and security of our neighborhoods.
