Police Arrest Two Suspects over Robbery of Worth UGX 3M from Mobile Money Agent in Wakiso District

Police in Wakiso district have arrested two suspects for allegedly stealing around UGX 3 million from a mobile money agent.

SCP Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson, while addressing the media on June 10, 2024, at the police headquarters in Naguru, identified the victim as Maria Mbadilemu and the two suspects as Bahari Kiseka and Edwin Bayaya in Bwebajja, Wakiso district.

According to Enanga, the suspects, who were armed with a pistol registered from South Sudan, were also identified as friends to the victim, who attacked her on her way back home at 11:00 p.m. and robbed around UGX 3 million.

“I commend the victim for alerting the Bwebajja police by calling the counter phone, a strategy designed to enable a quick response to the incident,” Enanga said.

He further revealed that through the investigation, around UGX 1.5 million was recovered from mobile phones, and he urges the public to report any criminal crimes to the nearest police station.
