NWSC Announces Water Supply Interruption in Kampala City

The Management of National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has announced regrets that there will be interruptions in water supply today from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

According to a statement issued by the corporation on January 3, 2024 Kampala residents are set to experience water supply interruptions, as critical maintenance and system upgrades are being undertaken.

“We regret to inform our valued customers and the general public that, the interruptions are part of routine maintenance and system upgrades at Ggaba Water Works, a major facility in the city’s water supply system, “The statement stated.

Areas expected to be affected include Muyenga, parts of Kampala Central Business District, Kololo, Jinja Road, Mutungo, Nakawa, Mbuya, Kyambogo, Bombo Road, Mulago, Makerere, Nakulabye, Namirembe, Rubaga, Makindye, Nsambya, and their surrounding areas.

The Corporation further advised customers to prepare adequately by storing sufficient water and using it sparingly during the disruption.

“Customers are therefore advised to store enough water and use it sparingly as we work,” added the statement.

NWSC expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and reassured customers of their commitment to improving water supply services. And as for updates and further inquiries, the public was encouraged to contact the corporation through their toll-free lines.

The corporation reiterated its commitment to ensuring reliable and efficient water service delivery to Kampala residents.
