Ngora Residents Reaping Big from Emyooga Programme, Applaud Gov’t’s Efforts

The residents of Ngora district have expressed their appreciation for the NRM government’s efforts in implementing the poverty eradication Emyooga, which has now been extended to Ngora.

Residents of Ngora warmly welcomed the Minister of State for Microfinance, Haruna Kasolo Kyeyune, on October 19, 2023. The minister was visiting to monitor the progress of Emyooga and was met with gratitude from the community. During the visit, residents shared their success stories related to Emyooga.

The locals revealed that there is evidence of improved livelihoods and job creation through the Emyooga programme, benefiting 1,600 individual members.

Minister Kasolo, currently in the Teso region for a monitoring visit of the Ngora district’s implementation of the Emyooga programme, has identified it as the top-performing district in the region.

“I thank both the technical and political leadership for the great work done in implementing the Emyooga and Parish Development Model ( PDM),” said Kasolo.

He urged banks to expedite the process of transferring money for Emyooga and PDM to the beneficiaries’ accounts. Additionally, he directed the Microfinance Support Centre to provide additional funding to every Sacco that has been validated.
