Multi award winning international saxophonist Kirk Whalum to perform in Uganda

Multi award winning international saxophonist Kirk Whalum will be in Uganda for the best live show on 7th March 2019 at Kampala Serena Hotel.

The legendary Kirk Whalum Live concert in Uganda kampala serena on 7th March is here. Tickets are at only 200,000/= and a table for 5,000,000/= All Proceeds go towards the support of the Rotary Blood Bank.

$1.3 Million has already been raised by Rotary Uganda to build a blood bank, currently running at Mengo Hospital. Uganda’s need for 350,000 units of blood is unfortunately still short in supply by 100,000 units. Leaving 20% of people requiring blood without it.

“The Rotary Blood bank at Mengo Hosiptal has run for 2 years, all the while collecting the blood and sending it to the Nakasero Blood bank for processing.” according to DG Emmanuel Katongole.

This will be Kirk Whalum‘s second trip to Uganda. Proceeds from the concert will go towards ensuring that blood is available to those who need it in this country.

Through the Kirk Whalum live concert @RotaryUganda hopes to improve on blood availability in Uganda and save more lives in partnership with prospective companies like @stanbicug @mtnug @newvisionwire.

Rotary Uganda is looking to raise US$500,000 towards the equipping of the Rotary Blood Bank at Mengo Hospital. Funds from the concert, featuring jazz renowned saxophonist Kirk Whalum, will go towards purchasing equipment.

The funds will enable the facility to test, process and pack safe blood, buy consumables and to also purchase a fully equipped mobile blood bank to transport blood safely.
