The Minister of Information, Communication, Technology, and National Guidance, Chris Baryomunsi has urged Ugandans to embrace the use of better technologies that have emerged to ensure efficiency and accuracy at work.

Minister Baryomunsi was on Tuesday, September 24th, 2024 addressing participants in the 28th annual international management conference organized by Makerere University Business School (MUBS) under the theme: Artificial Intelligence and the Knowledge Society: The Future of Business in Africa at Imperial Golf Hotel Entebbe.

According to Baryomunsi, adopting new technology eases work in all sectors of the economy such as business, healthcare, and education.

“The time has come when we must embrace the emerging technologies. Today if you want better efficiencies and outcomes, you have to adapt to better technology as it has made things easy in all sectors like business, healthcare, education, and tourism, among others,” Baryomunsi said.

MUBS Principal Professor Moses Muhwezi said that Artificial Intelligence is an enabler of the time. It determines the PhD and the graduate you become later.

“Using artificial intelligence can be greatly beneficial depending on your field of study, but the ability to analyze and understand data is entirely you,” Muhwezi said at the conference’s opening.
