Fabian Kasi, the Managing Director for Centenary Bank has appealed to Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) to foster trust between banks and the taxpayer using its different initiatives.
Kasi was delivering his keynote address at the 7th URA Bank’s Conference at Sheraton Hotel in Kampala on April 24, 2024 under the theme; “Financial technology trends and financial inclusion for enhanced tax compliance and transformation of Uganda’s economy.”
He assured URA that the bankers would collaborate with them to support the growth of Uganda’s economy.
“I appeal to the URA to ensure that its different initiatives foster trust between banks and the taxpayer and pledge the bankers’ commitment to working with URA in the growth of Uganda’s economy,” said Kasi.
Moses Ogwapus, the Commissioner for the Financial Services Department, Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development expressed his gratitude to URA for its efforts in strengthening stakeholder ties with the financial sector players.
Richard Kariisa, the Commissioner for Corporate Services, URA said that URA will continue to reiterate its commitment to stakeholder partnerships to explore new territories of mutual gain while working towards the economic liberation of Uganda.
The 7th Annual Bank’s Conference is an initiative where discussions of pertinent issues aimed at strengthening URA’s relationship with its stakeholders and identifying new gaps in the industry to improve and manage the day-to-day challenges
