LUKWAGO MISLEADING PEOPLE ON FOOD DISTRIBUTION PROGRESS

The government has so far given food to over 850,000 people in Kla & Wakiso, and NOT 200,000 as alleged by the Lord Mayor who one would have expected to be more informed about the affairs of his own City.

This has been done with the help of all Division Mayors. It’s embarrassing for the Lukwago to ‘cook’ his own figures on the exercise for political gain.

The food distribution teams are working with all Division Mayors who report to the Lord Mayor. Government teams are also working with RCCs, councilors and LCs. The Lord Mayor simply doesn’t want to seek information from them in his typical stubborn nature.

Food  will reach all areas although Some areas are densely populated and the teams may take more than 2 days serving one particular area.

Lukwago has pointed out some irregularities in Government’s food distribution exercise saying that many have not yet received. Food distribution to the vulnerable that started early April has seen many receive food and some left out.

Minister for ICT, Hon Peter Ogwang has called on residents who have no yet received the food to be patient as they are steadily moving through all the neighborhoods identified.
