IGP donates bulls to Police Muslim fraternity ahead of Eid-Al-Adhuha

The Inspector General of Police, Okoth Ochola has donated five bulls to the Police Muslim fraternity in Kampala metropolitan. Commissioner of Police (CP) Hajj Jamal Basalirwa, on behalf of the IGP, on Tuesday handed over the bulls to the Muslim community at the Police headquarters in Naguru. The bulls will be distributed among the Muslims residing in Nsambya Barracks, Police headquarters and the Field Force Unit in Naguru.e

The  Ministry of Public Service has declared Wednedsay, June 28, 2023 a public holiday as Muslim faithfuls celebrate Eid-Al Adhuha. The Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Godfrey Kaima, said in a statement that the day will be observed for Muslims to celebrate Eid-Al Adhuha and the public holiday throughout the country.

“Inform the general public that Wednesday, June 28, 2023, is Eid-AI-Adhuha and will be observed as a public holiday throughout Uganda”,’’ read the statement.

Kaima said that the same day will mark the culmination of the annual Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca.
