The second batch of Uganda Government Communicators Forum (GCOF) members has completed a two-day training course at the Institute of Security and Intelligence Studies (ISIS) in Entebbe.
The program aims to improve communication skills by providing the public with accurate, timely, and valuable information.
One of the trainees, Bernadette Ndema, a communications professional, stated that the lessons learnt from the engagement will only improve their communications role.
“It is our responsibility as the Government Communicators Forum to provide this information to the public at all times,” Ndema stated.
Senyange Wilfred, a communication officer at Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC), advised forum participants to be aggressive in communicating and explaining to the public what the institutions are all about on the government’s behalf.
Participants also included Col. Deo Akiiki, the Deputy Defence Spokesperson; Senyange Wilfred (UBC); and Charlotte Kemigyisha, the Public Relations Officer, Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry, and Fisheries (MAAIF), among others.
The Ministry of Information and ICT, the Internal Security Organization (ISO), and the Institute of Security and Intelligence Studies (ISIS) spearheaded the program.
