The government has assured to deploy troops in all vanilla-growing districts across the country once harvesting kicks off by July 17, 2023, to deter Vanilla thieves.

Fred Bwino Kyakulaga, the State Minister of State for Agriculture, promised security to vanilla producers all over the nation during yesterday’s news conference at the Uganda Media Centre. He disclosed that individuals who succumb to the temptation to collect immature vanilla and those who dye green vanilla beans will face consequences because doing so degrades the quality of the beans.
