Former State Prosecutor Convicted on Two Counts of Corruption

The Anti Corruption Court has convicted and sentenced Simon Kigwana a former state prosecutor in the office of director of public Prosecutions on two accounts of Corruption, on October 17,2023.

According to the Anti corruption Unit in collaborations with the Uganda Police, Kigwana was arrested in 2019 after he solicited for gratification of Ugx 6Million from Wananchi ( users).

” Kigwana solicited for the funds inorder to object bail in a criminal case at Nabweru Chief Magistrate’s court.

He has been sentenced to pay a fine of Ugx 7 Million and prohibited from working for government in the next 10 years.
