The deputy spokesperson of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party, John Kikonyogo, while addressing a press conference today, June 26, 2023, at the party headquarters, revealed that Dr. Frank Nabwiso has been appointed to handle the internal conflicts in the party, after receiving serious allegations against some senior members.

“FDC has been facing intrigue, bribery, corruption, impropriety, fraud and lack of transparency accusations that worsened during the ongoing mobilization of the party elections. As is customary within FDC, our constitution has provisions that dictate mechanisms for handling internal conflicts, which is why we have appointed a committee headed by Dr. Nabwiso to handle the matter,” said Kikonyogo.

He added that the top leadership has appointed a committee and believes they will diligently work towards resolving these matters; a comprehensive report will be produced within a month with a way forward.

“All members are urged to exercise patience and allow the committee to carry out its responsibilities, and we also request that members refrain from making further allegations against each other as they compete for different positions.

FDC has in the meantime requested that members postpone member recruitment into the party until the dust has settled. With the current conflicts, individuals will prioritize personal interests, which is why we see it fit to halt recruitment.
