πŸ“ŒKambuga Hospital located in Kanungu District will be elevated to a regional referral hospital after renovations. Minister of Health Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng during the ground breaking ceremony on March 29 said the project will cost Ugx40Bn and will be completed by the joint effort of UPDF Engineering Brigade and Kanungu District Local Government. UPDF deputy spokesperson Col. Deo Β  Akiiki said that Wankaba was a Ugandan national and ‘a highly trained Improvised Explosive Device (IED) expert’. πŸ“ŒA 25 year old woman was killed after a fence of Centenary High School in Nyendo fell on her. According to eyewitnesses, Betty Nabalonge a resident of Mukudde zone, Nyendo-Mukungwe division in Masaka was Wednesday coming from her sister’s residence to charge her phone when the incident happened. Twaha Kasirye, the Greater Masaka police spokesperson confirmed the incident and said the owner of Centenary High School will be charged with recklessness and negligence.

πŸ“Œ Residents of Loyo Ajonga village in Omoro District blocked an MTN vehicle to access its network mast as they accused the driver of the vehicle of driving through Loyo-Ajonga Primary School compound, endangering the students. The school headmistress, Catherine Anena says that the residents have for so long requested MTN Uganda to open a 700-meter community access road to ease access to their telecommunications tower, but in vain.

πŸ“Œ The District Agriculture Officer, Patrick Okware has sensitized farmers of Nabuyoga Town Council on how to plant Maksoy 3N soybeans. He also revealed that the other recommended Soya beans varieties for Uganda are Maksoy 1N and Maksoy 4M which yield between 2000 – 2500Kg/. The farmers applauded the district for the initiative and promised to work together in adopting modern ways of farming.

πŸ“Œ A suspected grenade Wednesday exploded in one Samuel Ngobi’s home, a resident of Kibuga-Mbata cell in Jinja City Southern division. Rhoda Namwase, an eye witness said they heard a big explosion from Ngobi’s house before the roof blew off and walls crumbling. 🌍 DRC: Over 25 UNAFEC members assassinated in Lubumbashi
πŸ“Œ Over 25 members of the National Union of Congolese Federalists (UNAFEC) were assassinated on Wednesday in Lubumbashi in the southeast of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, by unidentified assailants wearing military fatigues. According to their party and a civil organization, some commandos killed more than 25 people, some with firearms and others by drowning, according to Bertin Tchoz, head of a civil organization for peace and security in the Haut-Katanga district.

🌍 DRC: Over 2,000 schools to close due to war- UN
πŸ“Œ Over 2000 schools in DRC will close as a result of the going conflicts in the region. According to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), at least 2,100 schools in North Kivu and Ituri provinces have been forced to shut because of the deteriorating security situation between January 2022 and March 2023. The two provinces in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo most hit by the bloody conflict have roughly 750,000 children whose schooling has been disrupted.
