Government to introduce policy on alternative dispute resolution

The Ugandan Government is set to introduce a policy on alternative resolution of disputes in the country. The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Nobert Mao, expounds that the policy aims at regulating handling of disputes. Mao revealed that Government has already drafted a policy to this effect. He urged citizens to embrace alternative ways of settling disputes such as reconciliation, mediation small claims procedure and plea bargaining in criminal matters.

Makerere named among top 10 universities in Sub-Saharan Africa

Makerere University has been ranked 5th among the top 10 Sub-Saharan Africa universities by The Times Higher Education. The rankings produced in partnership with Mastercard Foundation, rank 88 universities from 17 countries in the region. The ranking highlights the strongest universities in Sub-Saharan Africa across a comprehensive range of performance indicators covering five pillars of  ‘access and fairness, Africa impact, teaching skills, student engagement, resources and finance.
