The Anti-Corruption Court chief magistrate, Joan Aciro, has granted a cash bail of Ugx 10 million to Karamoja’s Minister of Foreign Affairs after presenting five sureties. Mrs. Mary Goretti Kitutu and her brother have been in custody for a week.

Her co-accused brother Nagoya Michael Kitutu has also been granted a Ugx 3 million cash bail, and each of his two sureties has been bonded by a Ugx 100 million non-cash bail. Two land titles have also been deposited to court.

Mrs. Kitutu is facing two counts of causing loss of public property and one count of conspiracy to defraud for her role in the Karamoja iron sheet scandal.
