Surprisingly, Ugandan pop star -turned politician Hon Robert Kyagulanyi, Kyadondo MP has dispatched several of his family members to contest for several political positions come 2021.
Among them is his younger brother Michael Mukwaya alias Mickie Wine whom he has set to replace him in Kyadondo East as he intends to contest for presidential seat.
Eddie Yawe, his elder brother is set to contest as MP with Hon. Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda for Kiira Municipality while Fred Nyanzi alias Chairman Nyanzi is considering to replace Kampala Central legislator Hon. Muhammad Nsereko.
Unfortunately for the People Power family dynasty, it is all about grabbing donor cash at their disposal to ennrich themselves and their families without a care for those they hoodwink into praising them.
A few years ago, former Rubaga South legislator Ken Lukyamuzi argue on the floor of Parliament that it was wrong for the country’s leadership to remain within one family, following the appointment of Mrs Janet Museveni as Minister of Education and Sports and the President’s brother, Gen. Salim Saleh as his Senior Presidential Advisor.
However Lukyamuzi shocked the country when he drew in his daughter, Susan Nampijja, to replace him for the Rubaga South seat when he was barred by the Inspectorate of Government from contesting.
When Milton Obote died in 2005, his wife Miria, took over the UPC Party leadership and on retirement, her son James Akena succeeded the party presidency.
Opposition politicians have accused President Museveni of working with people close to him which was argued that he was shifting the attention from the promise of ‘fundamental change’ to the slogan of ‘no change’.
The People Power kingpin now selects his family members for appointments as they take priority in the pressure group’s resource distribution from the foreign donors.

Kyagulanyi Barbie Itungo, wife of Bobi Wine is also in the same circles, Bobi wine’s brothers Nyanzi Fred Ssentamu, Eddy Yawe and his close friend Nubian Lee are ever on his list for trips abroad throwing out many potential people power members.
Analysts say it is not surprising that Bobi wine moves with a less professional team and more of his family members which has been argued as a slow way of creating a little dynasty.
The past opposition leaders clearly failed to walk their talk. Clearly, this small movement called People power is a greedy self- seeking entity defined by nepotism.
