PRESIDENT MUSEVENI’S FULL SPEECH AT ARCHBISHOP KIZITO LWANGA SEND OFF CEREMONY AT KOLOLO
The reason I directed for this official national funeral ceremony is because Lwanga is an Archbishop. These are very important people….they are not many. Only 4 in the whole of Uganda; Odama in North, Obbo in East, Lambert in West and this one…
These are very important leaders of our people in the country..so that is number 1.
Two, Archbishop Lwanga was one of our supporters, with late Cardinal Nsubuga, Bishop Yokana Mukasa, and a Muslim Prince Badru Kakungulu…
Cardinal Nsubuga for example allowed us to get drugs in Kyankwanzi
And also a huge banana plantation in the Luweero triangle for the church where we were allowed to get a lot of food from…
Other priests like Fr Lafram, a Canadian, who was directly in touch with us, through commander Sam Magara. The priest of Bukamuli, eventually ran away and left a catechist there to be in touch with us.
Lwanga was therefore one of our bayekeera sympathisers and other religious colleagues….
When I came from the Bush, Cardinal Nsubuga invited me to Kyankwanzi and Lwanga was always with Cardinal Nsubuga, and that is how I came to know Lwanga. So when he became a Bishop I liked it bse he was someone I already knew.
But when I met him, I was impressed with the fact that he had started a microfinance group called weekembe, which he started with his own salary.
I salute the Archbishop for that.
It was a shock when I heard that he had died. I inquired and spoke to the police doctor who was involved.
The doctors may have to explain to us at some stage the condition….bse our people should live for sometime….
I spoke to my young doctor Atwiine and she told me about the ECG and ECHO that can see better the heart electrical work….
I will need to disturb them….
I organised this funeral here bse here I am in control.
There is still a problem of Corona and a new variety from Kenya….it is not correct to risk the lives of more people when someone has died….
I am glad that Bishop Anthony Zziwa has quoted the fundamental law of Christianity….
Love God with all your heart, and love your neighbor as you love yourself….I hear some people hating each other….fighting each other….this or that….
If you are a Christian, I suspect even if you are a Muslim, that is the law of Christianity.
I am happy that the church allowed us this opportunity to bear witness…
We are here to bear witness that this person made his contribution when he was alive.
I thank you.
