APPALLING: The Escalating Societal Immorality , Dirty Politics

In recent times, our motherland has suffered sophisticated levels of immorality. This leaves one wondering what could be the cause of this unwanted behaviour we are all witnessing in our society?

Well, I would like us to look into some of the root causes of this undesirable conduct in our societies:

Firstly, let’s talk about irresponsible parenting. Most modern parents have failed to know exactly what parenting is and what is done in the parenting process.

Children need to be taken care of physically and emotionally in order to be able to check their social behaviours. We should also teach our children the DOs and DON’Ts of social behaviours. Parents should also behave maturely enough because our children copy and paste our behaviours.

But as we talk about parenthood, let’s not forget to talk about our children too. Children should also be able to listen to their elders because they know a lot more than them.

Above all, my advice is let’s go back to “society parenting,” where a society should be responsible for the upbringing of their children. This simply means that one should not ignore a child’s misconduct just because it’s not their own.

As we talk about society and immorality, we can’t rule out how the open use of social media has derailed behaviour in our society. Well, we all know how good social media is for the development of our societies, but it’s not 10/10; we also know that social media can be an open book of moral decay if misused.

One report indicates that the average teen, ages 13 to 18, spends about 9 hours on social media each day. The more time spent on social media, the more likely it is to lead to cyberbullying, social anxiety, depression, and exposure to content that is not age-appropriate.

Lastly, let’s talk about our current politicians and the dirty political environment. It’s so sad seeing our politicians with huge followings among youth.

For instance, Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine encourages his followers to laugh and make fun of the dead as long as the deceased is opposing him.

He has also encouraged a politics of abuse and violence. This and so many other things have derailed the morality of society. All in all, let’s check ourselves and be each other’s advisors.
