The late Ssekadde, who served from 1994 until his retirement in 2009, dedicated over 50 years to serving God, leaving a legacy deeply rooted in faith, service, and community engagement.

The Namirembe Diocese Fathers Union and Namirembe Cathedral announced his death.

“On a sad note, we announce the sudden death of Bishop Emeritus, the Rt. Rev. Samuel Balagadde Ssekadde, the 4th Bishop of our Diocese. May his soul rest in peace,’’ the statement reads in part.

According to a family source, the deceased reportedly fell in the bathroom and was immediately rushed to Kisubi Hospital; unfortunately, he passed on.

A few days ago, Ssekadde was in Rushere-Nyabushozi, Kiruhura district, for the burial of the late Mrs. Norah Karakire.
