Recovering from Ebola Virus Disease depends on supportive care and the patientโs immune response.
People who recover from Ebola develop antibodies that can last for 10 years.
It is not a guarantee that people who recover from Ebola are immune for life or canโt be infected with other Ebola virus species.
Some Ebola survivors may have long term complications like joint and vision problems.
Currently there no certified antiviral drug for treating Ebola Virus Disease but the treatment stops the virus from multiplying itself.
Let us protect ourselves from getting infected by Ebola to avoid some of the complications that come with it, physically, socially and even economically.

While appearing on the weekly Urban TV morning talk show, Dr. John Baptist Waniaye, the commissioner emergency medical services at the Ministry of Health revealed that Religious and cultural beliefs are undermining efforts to combat Ebola in Kassanda district.
“People exhume bodies our health workers have buried, arguing that we donโt respect their religious or traditional values when burying their loved ones, and leads totheir death since they get infected,” he said.

The Ebola Surveillance Team at the Masaka Regional Referral Hospital is concerned about the current grasshopper season given the Ebola outbreak that has affected several districts in central Uganda. Dr. James Elima, the superintendent of Masaka Referral Hospital is concerned that the operations of grasshopper trappers and vendors may increase the risk of spreading Ebola to the communities, especially at a time when the hospital has confirmed the first Ebola death.

Rubaga North Member of Parliament, Hon. Abubaker Kawalya has denied allegations made against him by the State Minister for Primary Healthcare, Hon. Margaret Muhanga for misinforming the public about the Ebola outbreak in Uganda.
Muhanga accused Kawalya for misleading the public that there is no Ebola outbreak in Uganda, during a talk show on CBS Radio on 1st September2022. She made the allegation while presenting to Parliament a status update on the Ebola on Wednesday, 02 November 2022.

ย According to Dr. Joy Muhindo, the Kasese Municipal Health Officer, residents in districts of Kasese, Bunyangabu, and Fort Portal city escaped death after eating grasshoppers that led them to stomach complications and vomitingย ย after eating them. This started on Saturday last week with people from villages of Kisanga B, Kamulikwizi and Nyakasanga West in Nyamwamba Division, Kasese Municipality, Rwimi in Bunyangabu district and later to residents of Fort Portal city on Monday who reported complications that came up after chewing grasshoppers.

ย Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has been shot and lightly wounded on the leg, in an attack on his protest march in the countryโs east. He was leading a protest march on the capital, to demand snap elections.
ย One of his supporters was killed and several officials of Khanโs PTI party were injured in the shooting in Wazirabad.
Current Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the shooting and ordered the interior minister to seek an immediate investigation.
