The Uganda Certificate of Education examinations for 2022 started today, Monday across the country.

In Mubende and Kasanda districts, UCE is being conducted as per the schedules despite lockdown instituted by the President on Saturday.

Jennifer Kalule Musamba, the UNEB Principal Public Relations Officer has confirmed that the examinations in the two districts will go on as originally planned.

“The Ministry has given us a go ahead permitting movement for all those conducting UNEB examinations in the area. They shall present an introductory letter and a copy of their National Identify card to relevant officials,” Kalule said.

She emphasized strict adherence to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) as guided by the Ministry of Health.

On Saturday 15th, President Museveni imposed a 21-day lockdown on the districts of Mubende and Kassanda in order to contain an Ebola outbreak that has already claimed 19 lives in the country.
