MPIGI: Gate Way Bus Fire Outbreak Caused By Faulty Brake System

Fresh details have emerged about the cause of fire that caught the Mbarara bound Gate Way bus in Mpigi district.

The Gate Way bus registration number UAU 926U was heading to Kabale, western Uganda before it caught fire at Kampiringisa check point in Kamengo, Mpigi district.

According to security sources at the scene, the bus had experienced mechanical faults in its rear brake system which sparked off the fire.

No passenger was hurt as they all ran out of the bus when they saw flames which started by burning the tyres.

Motorists have been advised to avoid transporting passengers using vehicles under poor mechanical conditions.
