Following several scandals ranging from the hiccups of NUP and the Kibalama saga, several sexual harassment allegations in NUP and sidelining of some anticipated flag bearers, a section of People Power members have formed a parallel office in Mukono to run things independent of what they have termed as an autocracy in People Power/ NUP.

Led by Nambooze’s daughter in law Lydia Namayengo Njuba who is planning to contest for Mukono District Woman MP seat has opened an independent people power office operate near the Municipal Taxi park.

The reasons seem to be clear following the unveiling trend in the main people power/ NUP leadership, but people in the circles behind the parallel office accuse Bobi wine of tribalism with cases of power being yielded by his brothers and close friends. They accuse him of being un accommodative with ideas from people he perceives as competitors. “He doesn’t want anyone to outshine him, he is insecure that is why he has failed to work with the big musicians that were former competition in the music world and prefers to work with those he thinks are not a threat to his authoritarianism.

Nambooze advised other people power candidates who have not met their needs and democracy in the main wing asking them to join her or start their independent wings.

The question of funding from diaspora is one big issue that has broken the umbrella people. When accountability from Bobi wines’ wing has been faulted or never was submitted to the people over seas. This opened up bitter raw between people power sympathizers in US and other over sea countries. This oversaw Ameny the coordinator of USA being dumped by Bobi wine for continuously demanding accountability.

All these unveiling events have raised a lot of grumbling among the red ballet people with some threatening to throw in the towel.
