Mufti, Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje has appealed to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to replace the late Hajjat Nusura Nabukalu with another Muslim servant, ensuring continued representation of the Muslim community in important leadership roles.

Mubajje made the appeal during the send-off of the late Hajjat Nusura Nabukalu, Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Budaka, at Bugembe Blue Primary School playground on December 30, 2024 where he highlighted the challenges faced by Muslims in securing prominent roles within the government.

Mubajje noted that losing such a position would be detrimental to the Muslim community. He praised Hajjat Nabukalu for her exemplary conduct and dedication, encouraging Muslim women and girls to aspire to leadership roles by following her example.

Reflecting on his own educational background as an alumnus of Bugembe Blue Primary School, Mubajje urged parents to prioritize not only academic success but also the teaching of religious values and ethics to their children. “We must ensure that our children receive both secular education and religious teachings,” he stressed.

Hajjat Nusura Nabukalu was laid to rest at the Jinja City Muslim Cemetery, leaving behind a legacy of service and commitment that will inspire future generations.

Through his remarks, Sheikh Mubajje underscored the importance of unity and representation within the Muslim community, calling for a collective effort to empower individuals who can continue the impactful work exemplified by Hajjat Nabukalu.
