The Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) has made available sample papers for the Uganda Certificate of Examination (UCE) End of Cycle Competency Based Assessment (CBA) under the New Lower Secondary School Curriculum (NLSC).
This was revealed in a statement issued by the UNEB on Monday, 25, 2024.
According to Executive Director Dan N. Odongo, the goal is to expose both teachers and learners to the question format of competency-based assessments, and each paper includes a scoring guide.
Odongo stated that all UNEB Examination Centers can access the sample papers through the UNEB portal, and that UNEB will distribute hard copy booklets to schools without center numbers.
“The sample papers can now be accessed via the UNEB portal by all UNEB Examination centers and UNEB will distribute hard copy booklets to schools without center numbers,” Odongo stated.
However, the sample papers cover thirty-six subjects divided into four categories: humanities, sciences, vocational, and languages.
UNEB has asked teachers to familiarize themselves with the sample papers, guide students, and develop similar or related scenarios and questions to expose students to a variety of test items.
On March 18, UNEB released sample test papers and a continuous tool for assessment of the New Lower Secondary Curriculum (NLSC).
